“Sangha” (Sung-ha)
The word “Sangha” is a Sanskrit word that means a community that joins together in support of a constructive goal or practice.
In Tibetan, it is translated with the word gendun (dge-’dun); “gen” meaning “constructive” and “dun” meaning “intent on”. Together, gendun means “those people or things that are intent on a constructive goal” - being Buddhahood, so as to be of true benefit to all sentient beings.
